Confused about how far I am…

Hello pretty ladies…

I had bloods done on Wednesday, the HCG count was 237.7 which is according to the nurse is two weeks.  My first day of my last period was the 2nd of January 2012.  My cycle is between 24 – 28 days.  According to my period, I should be 4 weeks on Monday, however, got my first  positive pregnancy test on Monday which was only 3 weeks after the first day of my last period…

I am only seeing the doctor on the 7th of February 2012 and I am just confused on how far I am…

Any ideas?

The blood test says how many weeks past ovulations you are. While doctors and pregnancy calendars work on how many weeks past your last period you are. Which for most women would mean that you are would be 2 weeks preggies on the blood test when you are 4 weeks preggies on the the pregnancy calendar (They work on the consumption that most women ovulate around day 14 of their cycle). 237.7 falls in the 1 to 2 weeks past ovulation category. So on Wednesday you where probably between 3 and 4 weeks pregnant, which is spot on with your last period.

Most pregnancy urine tests only come up positive 14 days after ovulation (some are more sensitive and would usually state that they can pick pregnancy up 12 days past ovulation). With my second however I got a positive pregnancy test 11 days after ovulation (I was charting temperature, so knew exactly when I ovulated). Chance is that you ovulated a few days early. Normal can be from day 12 to 18. But you can even ovulate as early as day 9.

I’d go on what the nurse said that you where 4 weeks (2 weeks past ovulation) on Wednesday. Your doctor will however most probably work from 2 January making your due date 8 October.

Hope that helps and don’t confuse you more :)

Morning , try to use the due date calculator. Maybe it might give you anidea.

Dr’s also say the blood test gives the accurate results.
